Having done Denmark for 3 years, I'm not signing up for a contract longer than 6 months, so the unlocked price is interesting for me. I've had an N95 since it launched and I've been waiting to upgrade - and the 97 is the only phone I've seen that does that. I have a "Don't want to use windows mobile" rule too. I hear that the N97 is June. I’m waiting for it but I’m imagining it’s not going to be nice.

There was the Nokia E55 (with "compact QWERTY"), which would probably be good if your primary input language would be English. The battery time of the E55 was impressive, AFAIR. It has GPS but it says Nokia Map apps. I want use Google Maps with all their comprehensive info on there. If you find anything else that interests you, I'd appreciative if you would share. I will do the same. Potch - G1 is probably my backup option or possible the G2. It ticks most of the boxes and I use Google's Products. Maybe a silly question but these updates are available if I buy a G1 soon-ish and then when the updates is published I can still get the update? It is a bit buggy, but still works well. And the new 1.5 update (cupcake) should be out within the next few months and have many bug fixed along with video recording.
